MSC Seaside

I took a trip down to Miami to visit this incredible, new ship!  The MSC Seaside started to sail Eastern and Western Caribbean routes in December of 2017.  The seaside is the first of two MSC ships in the Seaside Class and is the largest ship to be built by Fincantieri in Italy.  Named “The ship that follows the sun”, this vessel was designed to bring guests closer than ever to the sea.

MSC Seaside rewrites the rule book of cruise ship design, blending indoor and outdoor areas to connect you with the sea like never before. Circling the ship as low as Deck 8 is a unique seafront promenade lined with places to eat, drink, shop, swim and sunbathe. And you can enjoy more superb views from the two-deck glass-walled atrium and panoramic elevators.

I had a short time to explore this vessel during a home port day and I have to say it was pretty incredible.  Of course, it still had that new ship smell!  The decor is very modern and clean, with a Swarovski staircase in the main atrium.  I am excited to sail on the Seaside not only to experience the latest in ship design but also to have a meal designed by one of our favorite chefs, Roy Yamaguchi.

Designed with award-winning Chef Roy Yamaguchi, our Pan-Asian restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary experience. Chef Yamaguchi, creator of Hawaiian fusion cuisine, combines his Japanese heritage with a love for the freshest ingredients. And he brings his creative flair to every detail, from creating the recipes and suggesting the perfect wine pairings to selecting the right chinaware and the ideal music to enhance the dining experience.
